Races

Playable races in this part of Gelfestiir, and their lands of residence, are as follows:

Dwarf – Dwarf settlements can be found in the mountains of western Divaan, southwestern Chresis and Styrlac, the border mountains between the Ankheromai Desert and Eastern Siriadon, and the Stormcrest Mountains in the east.

Elf – Elves can be found in most of the known lands, but with few exceptions build their settlements far from the other races. The Iffental Forest south of Faltris contains a smaller elven city, and explorers tell of several cities in the northern Prosipir Valley and the forest of Kuusaldis. Other settlements have been reported in the northern steppes of Edinclast. Seafaring elves are rumored to sail the waters west of Western Siriadon. All that is truly certain, however, is that there are elves among the lands around the Sea of Casselome, wanderers from their homelands for reasons they seldom speak of, and who occasionally congregate in larger numbers in cities.

Gnome – Gnomes can be found in most lands and cities throughout the region. They tend to group together and form their own enclaves.

Goliath – The demi-giants are rare among the seaboard countries, but can be found in the High Synd-Galir and the Steppes of edinclast.

Halfling – Though halflings travel and settle throughout the region at will, their main homeland in Diraan, on the edge of the plateau where Diraan, Virstachreon and Ornestra meet. They also overflow into into those other two countries and, to the annoyance of the more patriotic citizens of those countries, tend to be more loyal to their halflings clans than to the rulers of the soil they happen to occupy.

Human – Humans make up the majority of the population in all the known lands, though in some places only barely.

Orc – Orcs are generally found in the wilderness areas outside the seaboard nations. Most commonly they inhabit the central Prospir Valley, the Edinclast steppes, parts of the High Synd-Galir, and parts of the Ankheromai Desert. They are sometimes known to settle among the human populations, though more often in the outskirts or in the secluded sections of cities.

Tiefling – This race is not native to Gelfestiir, and have passed down stories of another world before they found themselves deposited here (though no one knows why or how). They have gathered into a few smaller city-states in Tzerimytris, though there are rumors of other colonies of Teiflings in other parts of the world. They travel freely throughout the known lands, but are subject to prejudice in most of them.
